Maison Michel has been perfecting its art since 1936. Recognized for its expertise in experimenting with new shapes and materials, the company creates hats for the studios of the world’s most prestigious fashion houses.
Maison Michel today is best known for its signature ready-to-wear collection of hats and hair accessories – creations that, with their fresh, seductive allure and strong signature, have garnered a cult following.
From derby hats to boaters and trilbies, a wide repertoire of classic forms are revisited through a modern lens. Artfully placed whimsical decorations embellish noble materials, but always with a twist. Feathers, lace, beads and chains mingle on the house’s hair accessories, meanwhile, playfully blurring the lines.
Each season the teams at Maison Michel combine know-how, skill and creativity to dream up unexpected takes on signature house styles. Take the house’s Virginie hat, now available in rabbit fur felt or beaver, the Henrietta, with two choices of band, in grosgrain or metal, or its André model, available in Destroyed or Painted versions.
Regularly captured through the lens of Karl Lagerfeld, Maison Michel’s collections, since late 2013, boast as their showcase the house’s first store, a bijoux of a boutique based in a prime location on Rue Cambon.
